Ann Sullivan grew up in San Jose, CA, and was raised in a large Irish Catholic family.  Her childhood Christian formation was in a local vibrant Catholic Church and Christian schools for Kindergarten-12th grade. After college she served as a youth pastor for two years.  She studied Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University and was licensed as an LMFT in 1990.  Ann had a private practice for fifteen years in San Jose, helping couples, families, and individuals heal relationships and grow spiritually. Her areas of specialty are addictions of all kinds, codependency, couples counseling, grief counseling, and issues related to adoptions.

When she discerned a clear call to ordained ministry, she transferred to the Episcopal Church.  She had 7 years of formation at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Menlo Park and 4 years of formation at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Mountain View, where she was active as a liturgical minister, preacher, and teacher, developing leaders for covenant groups and ministry.  She received an M. Div. from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 1997 and was ordained in 1999.  Ann served as assistant to the Rector for seven years at St. Edward's Episcopal Church in San Jose from 1999 to 2006.

After a two year long discernment process among all parishioners, Ann was called to be the Rector of St. Nicholas' Church in May of 2006.

Ann has a passion for healing and for gathering people together to know Jesus in practical everyday life. She was specifically hired at St. Nicholas' to bring them through the dynamic process of change in an effort to create methods of worship and ministries to meet the needs of an unchurched culture.

Ann has a passion and calling to meet the needs of those who are often overlooked; the least, the last, and the lost.

She would like to meet you and welcome you to our church family!

She has created a 101 Welcome class that helps people come together to know each other and become easily oriented to our church.

Come and join us!
